Minako Oka - Printmaker

Minako took a BA in Visual Communication Design at Musashino Art University Tokyo Japan and worked as a package designer before moving to the UK in 1991, where she earned her MA in Illustration at Kingston University Surrey UK. Other media she has studied and worked in are; printmaking, ceramics, jewellery, papermaking, papier-mâché and photography. She has been making woodcut prints using environmentally-friendly, water-based etching inks since 2010 as an eco-friendly artist. Minako strongly believes in the healing effect of the creative energy that she experiences while she works on her own pieces and is hoping to pass it on to others through her work.
